Rhinoplasty is a surgery on the nose which literally is made up of two parts: “Rhino” which means nose, and “plasty” which means repair or making beautiful. Rhinoplasty is a surgery for changing the shape of the nose. There are two types of nose plastic surgery used- reconstructive surgery that restores the form and function of the nose, and cosmetic surgery that improves the appearance of the nose. The surgeon in a rhinoplasty can make the nose smaller or larger, or can change the nose’s size and shape from the tip to the bridge.
